Happy land of the bubbly! - Epernay part 1

Following the champagne route from Reims and a 45min drive through countless vineyards you will arrive in Epernay - another major champagne making hub. Most of the top appellations are from around this region.

I preferred to stay in bed & breakfast especially in the country side and I would highly recommend L'interface. It is not listed in the usual booking websites but the owner Didier is very responsive if you drop him an email.

Didier contacted me way in advance to confirm my booking despite not collecting any deposit (some B&B asks for a deposit beforehand). On top of which he was the only B&B owner who gave me a good guide of both Reims and Epernay once I told him about our schedule (TGV to Reims and drive). An excellent host that gave good and personal tips which made our stay very comfortable.

Double room was spacious and comfy
Biggest bathroom we had in France... it was a very pleasant surprise especially after Paris hotel
Didier's cat loves to come into our room to access the rooftop
Curious cat likes to follow new guests around
Breakfast/snack table
We took a stroll around town centre
Included in Didier's recommendations was a list of good restaurants in Epernay. We decided to visit grill specialist La Grillade Groumande.

the drinks menu versus the food menu that the husband is holding
A glass of Collet as aperitif
Collection of wine cork each month above the grill
Their specialty: Crayfish in Champagne sauce! It was delicious!
I ordered a grilled sea-bass but didn't expect the whole fish to turn up! Husband ordered a very well grilled lamb rack with honey and rosemary.
